Club News:

Board Meeting was held on the first Wednesday of the month, May 7 at 2:00 PM.

  • Food for Kidz news – The Stewartville Community Center Date for packing was Saturday April 5th. It looks like our club $2000 goal was met. The total number of meals to date in 21 years is 2,427,924. Per Teresa Lipinski – This year 106,200 meals were packed, using 379 volunteers, and $17225 donated to pay for the food that was packed. Thanks to all!
  • Schaeffer Academy student “Eva Hunderford has been selected to receive the Golden K Kiwanis Scholarship. The Scholarship will be presented at the Schaeffer Academy graduation on May 15. Note that Eva will be invited to a Golden K Kiwanis meeting, future date will be announced.
  • Pen Pal program with St Pius School is still on hold, Jane Douglas will be coordinating this program. Looks like it will be Fall 2025 at the earliest.
  • Kiwanis Honker fund raiser is June 10. Get your ticket online or signup at our meeting.
  • We have been looking at replacing the Peanut Day vest. The Board has agreed on style and color of new aprons, so note that they will not be vest like previous one. Jerry Engelbert will be placing the order.
  • The Reading Program remains tabled until a partner school can be identified. We are looking for a volunteer to coordinate this project.

Legion of Honor:

President Rita McCoy presents the Kiwanis Golden K Legion of Honor award to Joe Hennessey celebrating Joe‘s 25th anniversary as a member of our club.
